To The Tune Of
Doc Mason
Americana music featuring Folk Rock, Traditional Country and Folk all recorded in "Acoustic" fashion. A mixture of original songs written by myself and some songs written by my musical brother, Terry Clements, and select classic songs all mixed in together in a musical stew. The title cut was written in the wee hours of the morning out back in a man-cave that we named Barneo. The song was pretty much all written except it still needed an opening line. I began to look around the barn to see what I might have written down recently on my cardboard pocket thought documents, and there it was, written with a ballpoint pen, "It don't always take a hit to win the ballgame. Sometimes just a long fly ball will do." And that's how songwriting works, sometimes. I used my usual formula, some originals, some written by my friend Terry Clements, and always Walter Hyatt and John Prine. I learn some songs just because they popped into my head. I look up the words on-line.
